The Power of Togetherness

A critical thing for the Body of Christ to embrace is that we can do more together than we can do individually.  As followers of Christ, we are workers together with God in ministry.  We may have different affiliations and different names but we are all the Church of Jesus Christ.  The ministry is the His ministry.  He has graced us to participate with Him in the work He is doing in the world.  If we could find a way to join hand in hands across denominational lines and congregational lines for the overall work of the ministry, we could accomplish much more for the Kingdom of God.  This Small Church Engagement Conference and the theme, “The Power of Togetherness” is an attempt to bring smaller congregations together for training, ministry develop and strategizing for ministry work.  Together, we can do great things in the Kingdom of God.

The Theology of Money Management/Dinner (Please sign up) - Mr. Bill Feus - Gray Rock Financial Planning & Consulting/ Fort Mill, SC
Description:  Money and its management is a huge concern in the lives of many people.  It is a concern of our Lord as well, who desires that we use money as a tool for advancing the Kingdom of God.  Yes, to live on but more importantly, manage it in a way that we will have enough to live on and to use for Kingdom purposes.  This Seminar will help us understand the spiritual use of our resources with emphasis on or monetary means, and how we can become better at living lives that are well within our means and well away from being overwhelmed in so much debt that we don't have any to invest in the Kingdom of God.

9:35 AM – 10: 50 AM Breakout Sessions:

Evangelizing Tools In a Digital World - Bro. Trevor Stevens
Every church, regardless of size can engage in social media platforming and discover new and creative ways of being visible and getting the message out to the public.  This seminar is geared toward developing this concept and giving the attendees concrete information and means as to how to create these platforms in their local churches.

Developing a Mission-Minded Church - Pastor Charles Sturdivent
Missions seems to be a world away for some of us.  Yet, our Lord commanded us to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.  What does that look like in the 21st century?  How do we engage the leadership and the congregation to involve them in the process?  How do we add more to what the things we are already doing and do ministry effectively?  This seminar will focus on strategies for developing a mission-minded church, focusing on changing perspectives of what missions is all about, God’s heart and command, as well as, easy ways to stir interest and fund missions.

Reaching & Keeping Millennials for Christ - Pastor Rockmond Robinson
This session will focus on the issue of Millennial and their connection to or lack of connection to the church.  It is designed to help us understand the issue and discover a way forward in bringing young people to a commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and His church in the 21st century.

Renewing Leaders for Effective Leadership - Dr. Tony W. Barr, Sr.
This session will provide you with the tools to assess your current ministry and identify barriers that are preventing your ministry from growing numerically, spiritually and financially.

Interested in Short Term Missions - Bishop Alfred Jackson
What does it take go on your first Short Term Mission?  The information you need is right here in this seminar.  The attendee will receive step-by-step instructions on the spiritual, the physical, the cultural and the financial preparations that need to be made for a person to have a meaningful and impactful mission experience.

Discipleship: Prioritizing, Developing and Implementing - Elder Warren Hoskins
One of the greatest challenges of the church today is having committed disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Could that be the church’s own fault?  If so, the fix is to get back to the business of growing and nurturing new converts into disciples of Christ.  The way to do this is through a solid discipleship program.  This seminar focuses on how to do this from beginning to end.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch & Visit Vendor Booths

2:05 PM – 3:20 PM: Breakout Sessions III

Reaching the Marginalized & Disconnected - Bishop Kirkland Smith
The scriptures speak of the “least of these.”  Jesus engaged and ministered to Legion.  He calls us to do the same. The marginalized and disconnected in society are often overlooked and left out.  This seminar will focus on the importance of this segment of our society and means by which the church can reach and minister to them.

Reaching the Refugees & International Students Among Us - Trevor & Brandy Stevens
God has brought the world to us!  In almost every community there are refugees, and in some communities, there are International Students.  Many of these people have come from a small church environment and know the intimacy and love that can be experienced in such settings.  This seminar will focus on ministering to this segment of our society and how the small church can move beyond her comfort zone and open up to people from different cultures and nations.

Global Mission Engagement for Your Congregation…Bishop Alfred Jackson
Many congregations talk about the great commission and have a desire to engage the world with the gospel; however, they don’t see how they can do this when faced with limited resources and being unfamiliar with how they can get involved. How do they get involved? Who do they connect with?  Where do they go?  This Seminar will address these concerns and will provide a clear path for any congregation to get involved on the exciting and impactful mission scene at home and abroad.
